The name KWP may be new to you, even if you are in the building industry, but they have been in business for over 40 years. KWP siding is an engineered wood siding product manufactured by KWP Products, well known in Canada and throughout the Northeastern part of the US. The company is based in Terrebonne, Quebec Canada (near Montreal) and has 18 manufacturing facilities throughout Canada and the Northeastern part of the US. KWP is an eco-friendly manufacturing company and is dedicated to protecting natural resources that will be required in the future.
KWP engineered wood siding products are made from 100% pre consumer recycled content. The material is then formed in a press with other proprietary additives to create a strong and durable siding product. Eco-side® products are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified which means that the wood used in the manufacturing process is harvested from forests that are responsibly managed, and meet all of the (FSC) criteria. The entire line of Eco-side® siding products should be considered when building a new home or a remodel project.
KWP manufactures three different siding profiles including Lap Siding, Vertical Panel Siding, and Shake Siding panels. The product line is rounded out with trim/fascia boards and soffit boards in both vented and non-vented. All of the products have a unique woodgrain texture and at this time the only smooth product is a traditional lap siding.
When it comes to prefinished colors, Legacy Pre-Finishing can assist you in getting the exact color you want with factory controlled quality. We are also capable of applying a finish that makes this product look like real wood with one of our custom natural stains. If you would rather have a solid color finish we can apply that as well in either one of our timeless, historic, or popular colors as seen on our website or we can custom finish to your choice of designer color(s).
Eco-side® Lap Siding
The KWP Eco-side® lap siding products have a real woodgrain texture and are manufactured in 12 foot lengths. This engineered wood siding is much lighter than the fiber cement, easier to cut, has a greater resistance to impacts and is easier to install. You do not need special saw blades to cut the material and nails are easily driven into place much like real wood siding.
Shake Siding Panels
KWP offers two attractive shake panel products in which the Hampton shakes are a straight edge design and the Woodbury Shakes have a staggered edge design. Both panels are made in 48 inch lengths so they are easy to handle and install. Both designs, once installed, will provide a seven inch exposure and the woodgrain texture is very appealing and provides great curb appeal.
Vertical panels are manufactured with the same woodgrain texture as the above products and are available in 4 x 8 and 4 x 12 sheets. These panels are a perfect fit for board and batten siding applications and can be used on commercial or residential projects. We can factory finish these, even the 4 x 12 panels, with a stain finish or a solid color of your choice.
Trim/Fascia and Cornerboards
Currently KWP manufactures trim/fascia boards with a woodgrain texture only. Each board is made in 12 foot lengths and come in either a 3/4 or 5/4 thickness. The 3/4 inch products are available in widths from 4 inch to 12 inch while the 5/4 inch products are available in 3 inch up to 12 inch widths.
KWP also manufactures a mitered one piece outside corner product and it is available in 5/4 x 4 and 5/4 x 6 sizes only and are 10 feet long.
Soffit (Vented and Non-Vented)
KWP Stratford Soffit panels are available in the same woodgrain texture. Panels are available in 12-inch and 16-inch versions in either vented or non-vented designs with an overall length of 12 feet. If you need to span a greater width a 4 x 8 or 4 x 12 vertical panel may be an option. As with the entire line of KWP products we can factory machine finish these in one of our custom stain colors or a solid color of your choice.
